Disclaimer
Black Swan Project publishes investigative journalism and offers ORIGEN, a personalized dietary-supplement protocol. Neither is medical advice. Read this before you start.
ORIGEN: a personalized protocol, not a prescription
- What it does. ORIGEN calculates, with fixed rules, a dietary-supplement plan from your wearable metrics and your answers. It is personalized: two people get different plans. We show you what goes into the plan and why, and whatever the engine cannot verify in you is labeled as such.
- What it is not. It is not a diagnosis, a treatment or a medical prescription, and it does not create a doctor-patient relationship: no one at ORIGEN examines you or treats you as a patient. It does not replace your doctor.
- The safety gate. Before calculating anything we ask about medication, conditions, pregnancy or breastfeeding, and allergies. If your answers advise against a product, the plan does not include it; without those answers nothing is sold. It is a cautious filter, not a medical evaluation: it does not know your full history.
- The products. They are dietary supplements, sold as described on their label: ingredients, servings and warnings.
- Before you start, talk to your doctor and bring the plan, especially if you take medication, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have a medical condition. Always read the label and its warnings: the label governs. ORIGEN is only for people aged 18 or older.
- No guaranteed results. Your body may not respond the way studies or your data suggest. The analysis may not conclude, and then we tell you so.
If something does not agree with you
If it is an emergency, call 911. If you think an ORIGEN product has made you unwell, stop taking it and see a health professional. Then report it: how to report an adverse event — you can do it without leaving your details —, or directly to the FDA (MedWatch): 1-800-FDA-1088 or https://www.fda.gov/safety/medwatch.
Black Swan's journalism
- Informational only. The site's editorial content — articles, audio transmissions, FOIA archives, supplement indexes and the practitioner directory — is informational. It is not medical, psychological, financial or legal advice, and it does not replace consultation with a licensed provider.
- We report, we do not recommend. When an article describes a protocol, a dose, a breathing technique, an immersion temperature or any practice parameter, it reports what the published study or the declassified document recorded. It does not recommend that you do it. That applies to articles; the ORIGEN plan is something else and is described above.
- Before any practice — breathing, cold, supplements, fasting, deep meditation or nootropics —: consult a licensed provider; disclose any condition, pregnancy or medication; start at the lowest level and scale up gradually; stop at any abnormal symptom; and never practice extreme conscious breathing in or near water, while driving or at altitude.
- Documented risks. Hyperventilation (Wim Hof): shallow-water blackout, with risk of death by drowning. Cold immersion: cardiovascular risk with pre-existing conditions and hypothermia with incorrect exposure times. Supplements: drug interactions that can be serious, and study doses that do not always match a commercial product. Deep meditation: psychotic episodes documented in predisposed people.
- No guarantees. The cited studies are about average populations under controlled conditions. Your physiology, history and context are unique.
- Check it. Every article links its primary sources. See the methodology and the editorial standards.
